Fleece Show Details
Registration IS NOW CLOSED. All payments and ARI Certs must be postmarked by APRIL 2nd, 2008 or will be considered late. A $50 late fee will be applied to payments, ARI Certs and Exhibitor Disclosure Forms postmarked after April 2nd, 2008. No refunds on cancellations after April 1.
Print out a copy of your fleece tag for each entry and include it in the clear plastic bag with the matching fleece. This is particularly important if you are entering more than one fleece.
Include two copies of the ARI certificate for each alpaca with each fleece entry (along with a picture if you wish). One copy is for the show records; the second will be put in the box with the fleece following judging. This allows people viewing the fleeces to have more information about the animal that produced the fleece.
Under the Show Division Handbook Rules, certain alpacas and fleeces are automatically disqualified from competition and certain Exhibitors & Handlers are prohibited from personally showing in front of a Judge when a business or financial relationship exists between an AOBA Certified Judge and their customers.
Please review the following list of The Great Midwest Alpaca Festival Fleece Show Judges and their assignments:

The fleece, fleece tag, ARI certificates (and optional picture) must be received no later than April 19, 2008. Ship your entry to: GMAF Fleece Entry, Ginny Olson, 2454 Gaston Rd, Cottage Grove, WI 53527-9763 or hand deliver it to the same address (call ahead 608-698-1204). If more convenient, it may be dropped off at Smiley Bear Design, 21 N. First St. in Black River Falls, WI by April 17, 2008 during business hours (715-284-0027) or brought with you to Spring Bling and given to Tom or Ginny Olson at that time. Fleeces may NOT be hand-delivered when you check in your animals for the halter show as fleece judging is underway several hours before the halter check-in begins.
A confirmation of receipt of your fleece as well as a pick up receipt (for you to use if you pick up your fleece in person at the show) will be emailed to you.
If you wish to have fleece entry mailed back to you, include a check for $10 for one fleece, $15 for two, $20 for 3, etc. made payable to GMAF with your fleece registration or fleece entry.
Entries will be available for pickup by owners on Sunday beginning at noon.
Fleeces not picked up after the show on Sunday, April 27th, and without return shipping fees, will be donated to the Alpaca Fiber Cooperative of North America (AFCNA).
Classes may be combined in accordance with the AOBA show rules at the discretion of the fleece show superintendent.
A word to the wise: Many points are lost due to improper fleece preparation. The AOBA show book gives guidelines for preparing your fleece for showing. If you have questions, contact Ginny Olson: (608) 692-7829 or e-mail: Ginny@fevoldenfarm.com.
